I've searched the inter web high and low and I just can't find out what the thread pattern and size is for my 1966 stock Inland shifter, any of you knowledgeable folks know?

As a suggestion, if you take the shift knob to a machine shop or maybe your local NAPA store, they can size if for you with a Thread Checker that looks something like this....

I just noticed that you're in Ireland where NAPA probably doesn't exist. :) So maybe another local auto parts store would have one of these? A machine shop definitely would have a tool to check the size for you or you can order these things from Amazon, Ebay, etc.. for your home garage. Very handy tool....

I have a bunch of Inland handles here, If I remember, I'll try and check this weekend for you

thread size is 9/16" x 18.......but the black knob is special up inside for the lock-out handle to go up into above the threaded insert inside...a regular knob will not work

Thanks A383Wing much appreciated, so I can't change the knob then after all that, ah well more incentive to change it over to a Hurst shifter then, needed another reason ;-)

Hey Alex,
Sorry to hijack your thread.

A383Wing, I am in need of a decent Inland shift knob. Would you have one?

I am new to this forum, so I don't even know if there is the option to private message... I will try to find a way.
