So, I stuffed the R3 small block with an 8 quart Milodon oil pan in my 74 Roadrunner. With the engine mounted in the original position, the front of the pan was hitting on the K-frame pretty bad. I moved the mounts on the block forward which moved the engine back a little less than an inch which solved my oil pan to k-frame issue, but now the steering center link hits the back of the pan when turned fully right or left.
My thought is to install a set of fast ratio pitman/idler arms which in theory will moved the center link down and back away from the pan. I called Firm Feel and they said their arms are 1.5" longer than stock which should give me more than enough clearance.
Has as anyone else out there run into this issue or have installed the fast ratio arms and can clarify this will indeed move my center link back? Are they a direct bolt on or do you need longer tie rod adjusters too?
Thanks in advance,
JJ
