Hi, had to buy a new hood from amd for my 68 rr, have large gap on pass side, how to center?, tried pushing moved a little, can i shim between the spring and hood on the drivers side to get it to move over? Thanks phil

Usually just push on the side of the hood that is the smallest gap and that bend the springs slightly enough to get it to even out.

I tried that maybe I need someone with more weight did not seem to move .Phil
Few things to check with out a picture, 1st is the AMD hood the same width as the original ? we have had AMD hoods in our shop as much as 1/4 inch off in width.
Do not shim the hinges.
Make sure your striker and catch is not pulling it over to one side.
Don't shove and bend the hinges , side to side.
If the hood is the same width and if the catch and striker are lined up perfect measure the new hood from the edge to the hinge bolt holes and compare to the original hood. you can pull the hood to one side or the other by adjusting one set/ side of hood bolts at a time but that's only if its sitting at a angle.
If its a straight gap and all else is correct you will need to reset your fender and door front.
If we could see a full pic that would help.

OK, I had the same issue with new Hinges and Hood from AMD All alinements were perfect and the hood was coming to close to the Pass side corner . I had to slightly ben the hinges with the hood on the car being very careful with two people and watching the other drivers corner, It was PITA , but that is what I had to do
