So what's the story on this? Is "I don't know" all you got? I am interested if it's a tapered pinion.

I told him on the A-body forum that i would take it. I haven't heard a word from him.

I don't mean to hi-jack, but if he doesn't respond soon let me know as I have a 742 case 4:30 Chrysler ring and pinion I pulled to go with 3:73.

I'd like to trade for an aluminum water pump housing and I'd pay shipping.

LOL...I actually still have the 742 case 4.30 ring and pinion. The post from 3 years ago was my only attempt to move it.

Lol,
So are you still looking for an aluminum pump house?

This ring and pinion was in a 72 Dart I bought 5 years ago. I drove it around a few times with the 318/auto combo just to check the car out before I tore it down for a 383/5 speed conversion. A 3.73 swap was part of that conversion. The rear end didn't make any noise at all. The ring gear is stamped with the Chrysler logo, so I'm assuming this was an original ring and pinion or parts counter part.

I'm not a rear end expert, but it looks clean with no weird wear pattern or sharp edges. I can try to dig it out for a couple pics this week.

What about the pump housing?

It a never (as yet) installed. On the fence if I'm going to run it over the cast thats on mine now. Using a power steering boss for torque strap bolt and would need to relocate.
