Hi guys,

I posted this question on the E Body forum since that where it truly applies, but thought I'd ask here too in case someone has ran across this in one of their other vehicles.

Has anyone found a source for the blue/green plastic bulb 'cover / housing' that the center console light bulb lights up at night? This would be the plastic 'cover' that is inside of the Automatic Slap Stick assembly on a 1970 Cuda.

I've attached 2 photos of what I'm looking for, and you can see where the plastic broke off on the ear that was riveted internally to the housing. So this part was rolling around inside of the housing for years and I just now drilled the pop rivets in order to access it.

Thanks!

Steve

Thanks for the feedback RT. That's going to be my next plan unless someone comes up with a modern day source for these. Another option I'm considering is just a green colored LED bulb. I prefer staying original but no one would see the LED under the shifter bezel if I go that route.

We have these available but would require some mods to be installed like factory did on slap stick Shifters lettering

I think on my 74 Charger used some epoxy to held in place the lense, from outside ( didn't dissassembled the shifter assembly to do it ). Some tricky, but did't want to deal with the pop rivets of the chrome bezzel

Thanks for your feedback too, Nacho. I was wondering if a 'bulb dome?' similar to the one in my Cuda was used on a B Body car too. The link to the Domes you posted ARE similar, but different.

Since I initially posted my question, an electrical engineer co-worker suggested to me that these things were called 'bulb domes' and I found something online that's a bit closer to my original parts. These are reproduced for the Ford crowd by Scott Drake and look, very close to me. I'm trying to find out what the diameter is on these.....

Of course, they are for clusters ( several years and models, not just B 68/70 like seller says ), not really for the shifter. However they are actually the same just the attaching is diff.

Nice find! Shame under Ford line LOL ( same deal with brake booster check valve to midland ross boosters )

They are practically the same than the ones I posted, just already drilled for the rivet, and keeping the key pin on the other side. Just will need to remove that one.

I BET WAY CHEAPER TOO!

Note: E body shifter is the same than 3rd gen B bodies, so of course the bulb dome is the same

Diameter should be the same since seems to use same socket and bulb ( 57 )

The deal is the rivet hole location

On a side note, they say the CLOUDY original lense doesn't allow to get a shine light...thta can be PARTIALLY truth, because the "cloudy finish if stock lenses is made intentionally to light refraction and more consistent light all around

Lol! You found the same CJ pony sites I found, Nacho. I thought that my membership card here might be revoked if I posted Ford site info. here though but good for you for having no such worries! Lol!

And in case you or anyone else is interested, the 4 pack of dome covers I posted above are available at Summit for $8.96 plus shipping.http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sdk-c4vy10b870b4 That's who I emailed re diameter question but they were closed for the weekend. I hope to hear back from them on Monday.

Nice catch on summit source!

for other colors source ( if wished LOL )

if Mopar world doesn't help...!!!!!!

I can post the Midland Ross brake booster check valve on $19 from Phords websites too, where NOS Mopar parts are in $60-90 rate! Althout 45 degrees tees and not 90 degrees ( which are the most used on Moparts )
