Hey Guys, I'm getting ready to paint the dash on my 63 Sport Fury. I filled in the factory holes for the dash pad and the giant hole my dad cut for a speaker back in the day. It's going to be black, but I'm not sure what finish it should be- gloss, matte, satin? Any thoughts? I've seen a lot of people recommend the SEM Landau black for interior vinyl, can I use that on metal?

You have to think about sun reflection. I'd go with the mat finish.

I would vote for matte as well. Mine is that textured matte finish from the factory.

I also removed the passenger side dash pad, filled the holes and ash tray recess and painted it super glossy black. I removed the pad from the driver's side eyebrow and painted the metal frame with VHT Wrinkle Black. Not everyone's cup of tea, but it works for me...

I like it with the eyebrow too. I have the original. The vinyl is in bad shape. I think I'll strip it and paint it. Probably won't recover it since I'm not using the dash pad either.
