I know a 440 and those emblems weren't available in 66 but I get tired of folks asking me if it has a hemi or if its an impala...neither was the 446 that's in it.....and I know the rollers that are on it (to move it around) are chevy uni lug wheels, but it is what it is. Not trying to be sacrilegious.
It was an original 318 poly automatic car to begin with.
It has taken a lot of money time and work to get this far.
The floorboards can be eatin off of.
Black plate California car as well.
Well long story short. I bought this car off of Craigslist in 2009. It was a basket case.
I sold it twice once after getting nearly crushed to death and the second time I relocated across country and my work wasn't going to move a non running car for me.
I was able to trade the nice 67 Charger I bought off of my buddy when I moved, back to him for my nice 66 I sold him before I moved. Now the work continues.
Car is kind of sentimental because I picked it up with my kid who was 2 and he is now 9. I also had two good legs and now I have one good leg and one fucked up leg. I still do my thing tho.
I have put together a forged crank 67 440 motor for it. Forged piston ported head quench motor. Motor is complete just need to drop it in. Has a small shot of nitrous on it.
Not trying to break any records here just want a nice cruiser.
It is the factory kk1 color.
I am currently working on the interior.
I just got it into my garage, the roof is being put on the shop as we speak but I think I will keep this one at home to tinker with if and when I am not at the shop.
I grew up around these cars. Love them and their awkwardness.
Ill share some pics.
