Hello Again
1970 Roadrunner all put back together
My oil pressure guage is pegged to the top and I've tried two new sending units. Any idea of the cause?
Thanks

Check with a resister to ground to see if it is the gauge or wiring

connect an aftermarket and compare....HV oil pump ? Bad oil filter......what oil ??...a weaker spring in the oil pump would reduce it

Test with a live gauge also. Its the best way to verify it is or isn't the engine itself.

Check the resistance of your sending unit to ground

If you unplug the sender and the gauge still pegs there's a short somewhere in the wiring. Make sure you have a sender for a gauge and not the one for an oil light. They are different.

I bought 3 new ones that read wrong, the one on it now that reads closet to a known psi is a used one for a 6 cyl cj jeep.Go figure.
