Hey guys, there is a large car auction coming up in my area soon and they have a '69 RR in, I believe Rally Green w/black vinyl top.
It appears to have a big block and is a 4 speed car. I have only seen one picture of it so far. Looks like some dings here and there, top pealing
off, cheap Centerline type wheels and might have done some racing, but no cage in it.
Should be a rust free car, it was from AZ. They say it will drive across the block at the auction.
What do you think the bids might reach on this? I know it depends who shows up to bid and how much they want it.
But what do you think a realistic value of this could be?
Thanks in advance for your reply's.

I'm guessing $7500 with out any more info or pictures , good luck!!

I'm going to go look at it at the Open House the day before the auction, even if it is too rich for my blood!
2 weeks and counting.

my ralley green road runner.jpg so it sounds like the same color combo of my car that I am currently restoring now

I'm thinking more than $7500 as it looks to be in pretty good condition. If it's truly rust free and drivable with a good engine - but frankly I don't have any experience with car auctions. Just thinking the open market. Ditto on the good luck!

I'm telling you right now it will go for way more than its worth,I've seen these kinds of things before, these auctions turn into feeding frenzies and people go nuts with the bidding, you're probably going to leave and be thinking ''wtf".. lol.

Yeah, well I been there before, believe me.
Going to look anyway and they also have an "investment quality restoration" '72 Cuda 340 6 pack auto matching numbers, etc. restored as an AAR.
A Sherwood green '72 Challenger w/HP 408ci. v8(must be an Indy) ,AT, Dana 60 3.54 nice looking.
Also a '74 Charger BB stroker, Lime green w/ black stripe.
This sale has 250+ in the catalog and will have 400-500+ by auction time.

Rust free(no panels to replace) runs and a 4 speed. 7500-10000

OK here's an update. my son and I went to look at this RR and it's not all what the description said. We ran the VIN and it was originally a 383 car. The fender tag was missing, so we could go no further there.
The car had nearly no interior, no carpet, console, buckets from a 70 or 71,battery was moved to the trunk, floor pans were great, but the rear quarters were rusted out, rust bubbles and bondo in the RH ,rust holes in the LH,1 dent in the rear bumper, LF fender had several dents as did the RF fender. The hood had a scoop hole butchered in it with a black painted piece of plexiglass in it, held in by pieces of wood jammed in the hood supports. Front glass broken. It did have a 440 in it.
The auction was Monday and it went for $11,500.
I couldn't believe it. If you put $20K in it like mmissle said you might have something. I think they were just crazy. :eusa_eh:

Good call passing that one up. Always have to sift through some duds to find the right car.

To make it mint, you'll have 50 large into it easily, and even at that, you'll still have a patched together, non-matching numbers car with no fender tag & most likely no broadcast sheet.

In comparison, a finished high quality 69 Road Runner will go somewhere in the high 30s to low 40s.

Cranium-
When I get ready to sell my car can I park it in your new barn to collect dirt for a while? You might set up a sealed off corner with fans to blow in outside dirt so cars get really dirty in 30 days or less and offer this as a service to forbbody members. Then they can qualify as "barn finds" and $10,000 price premium. Garage finds command about half of that. Cars inside covered with dirt get the premium, cars outside covered with dirt not so much.

some people are NUTS!!!!! why can't I find these idiots when I want to sell a decent car!???????????????????????????????????????????????????? LOL
