I would like to know what size max tire I can put in the stock rear fenderwells of my 70 Roadrunner w/Dana 60. I love the look of the aluminum Rally wheels, and want to maximize the rubber width in the rear. Also, who makes the best ones? Thanks

275/60/15 on a 8" rim is the safest option with factory springs, shocks, and wheel wells. Anything bigger and chances are you will have rubbing issues.

Basically, what Hunt just said. Although you CAN put wider tires with the right offset wheel, its better to be safe than sorry.

I was leaning towards the 17" x 9" w/5" backspacing for the rear. Any 70 Roadrunner owners use this specific wheel in the rear? If so, what is the max width rubber you used without modifications? Thanks again!

In the market for these. Looking for anyone using them and rear max tire size or what size rear tires any of you with these rims may use.

Give me the weekend and I will tell you what I find. I have a set of year one magnum 17 inch I am trying on the 70 v code car.

Here is the 15 inch right now. Later today I'll go to storage and get the 17 inch wheels

When I still had 17" on my car it was 17x8 front 17x9 rear. 255/50 Nitto 555 front. 28x9 Hoosier slicks rear. 295/45 MT ET Street fit nice on a 17x9 and are DOT.
