New "garage" in the works

Not really much to see this week that pictures would show. they've been framing all week replacing some of the outer walls, framing in windows, doors and garage doors. This week, additional ceiling joists will be put in (to bring it up to code) and framing the downstairs walls. In the following 2 weeks they'll be working on framing in the new dormers and partition walls upstairs.

Not sure how I missed this one . Very cool house and your garage will be sweet when finished. I've been trying to buy the property across from my house so I can build a garage there one day and not have to sell everything when they get held up during resto good luck I'd like more pictures

A little advice from experience. Put in an elevator.. you will come to hate stairways ( carrying grocery's etc , more than you might realize) fumes from painting and other sources will be noticeable in your upstairs living quarters. ................................MO

I'm way ahead of you on that. See post 79 on page 4.

Some parts of NJ are just insane with their residential values, my wifes uncle sold a hous he bought for $40K in the late 70's for 1.2m last year!!! Its funny how it works, a 2 acre lot near me is WORTHLESS, because we have 3 acre development minimums (some ares are 5!!), but this keeps the area rural. I made a lot of money playing these curves, a few years back I bought a lot just short of 2 acres for $12K, lol... It was a probate sale.. 3 months later I bought 2 acres off of a gentleman next door (he had 15 acres so easily cut me a piece) with the verbal agreement I would not build or touch it for that matter until he passes, He is in his late 80's so I bought it to give to my son, its beautiful land, hopefully some day my sons will build his first project there....

Never underestimate what bare land can be worth...

You're going to have one sweet garage ala home or is it home ala garage? I like the idea of the gun ports on top.

Thanks Bud Man. The ground level is finally completed & they are working on upstairs this week. Submit just texted me some pictures showing some holes in the roof for the dormers.

RC - you're going to be the envy of all of FBBO with this new multiple occupancy man cave you're building for your family. We'll get to enjoy it vicariously through your posts - with pics.
