1972 Viper Powered Charger

Awesome build! Yes some more pictures please!

Some smiling, some cursing, lots of cursing.. I'm getting a safety and alignment done this week, so maybe they'll let me steal the dealer plate for a ride around the block.. It literally has a seat, steering wheel, shifter, and gauge cluster for an interior right now, so it's like driving a NASCAR.

Well things only get better, alignment, more interior parts (less noise) and some tweeking and I'm sure the cussing will turn to smiles. After the kind of mods you did there's bound to be a few things to iron out but once you get it look out!

Oh there's been those moments, especially the day I put the hood on, and stepped back... I remember "That's bad ***" coming out of my mouth, and a smirk.. One day at a time!

Considering how crazy my project is....I feel justified to say that too now and then LoL

Here's an update.. Haven't posted much.. Been working on the car.. Just finishing up the interior, which takes a lot more patience than expected.. Should have it ready for next weekend.

Looking good. I bet you can't wait to get out and drive the wheels off it

I'm honestly terrified.. My buddy and I installed the drivers seat yesterday.. So we sat in the car.. Closed the doors and put on our 5 point ACR harnesses..
I built what I wanted.. And it's absolutely mental.

Your car car is looking awesome dude, but no pics from November til now, quit holding out on the mopar ****. Lol

One question? How will you get your headliner in now? I have never been able to get one in right with out removing front and rear windshields. Just wondering if there is a secret to doing that. Awesome build! When I built my SB tribute I looked at putting in a viper engine. But too much fabrication clouding the all ready much fabrication needed to make the nose fit. Kudos and she's a beaut! Hope you post it running for the rest of us to drool over.

I'm not sure on the head liner.. I was sending it out to get that done. A guy wanted to trade the installation for a set of rims and tires I have.

A beautiful build! I have a 72 Charger SE and also a set of rallye doors , bulge hood and rallye taillights (minus the light housing) I want to build it into a rallye charger. Mine has hide away headlights and already has the rallye gauge package and center console. Was thinking of a Gen III hemi but need to get my 68 Charger finished. But yours sure makes my mouth water!

Thanks! I went with the classic industries ABS gauge cluster with electronic Autometer gauges to go with the new sending units I installed. I had the ralleye gauge pack too..

I wish I had some hideaways, but didn't want too much chrome. The standard SE tail lights, as well.. When you take the grilles off, they look like 1970 Charger 500 tail lights.. Kinda neat.

I keep going back to your thread. This has to be one of the most awesome builds I have seen. Keep the pictures coming please. Very interested in this type of build some time down the road. Between you , Keepat and kb67mopar you guys are an inspiration. I have been building and restoring cars for 30+ years but you guys take it to the next level!

Thanks! I appreciate the support. Picked up a metal core dash pad yesterday for $400. I'm just ecstatic! Here's a pic with my buddies '70 Challenger.

Man that car looks sweet it's been awhile since I popped in to see it , I'm contemplating bringing my charger out of storage to get it on the rotisserie and do something with it . But my Buick is here now and I was going to do it first but now I'm unsure . After seeing your car I think I'm leaning towards bringing the charger home and store the Buick for now . We deff need more pictures I need motivation to get the ball rolling on my charger again

I know what you mean as far as choosing what project to do next. I have a 72 charger a 73 charger and a 68. I thought I would do the 68 but the 72 needs no panel replacement. The 68 needs a bunch of panels (which I have). Just a major project. What kind of Buick?
