ok thanks it arrives next week I'll let you know

what car is it going in? i have a Edelbrock Victor under the hood of my 69 RR, and am pretty sure it's taller than the rpm. maybe you need a drop plate.

69 bee I just got it today,its for 440

I'd post pics if I could figure it out

69 bee, got my new air breather today to high can't figure how to post pics or I would show you

drop base, street dominator intake, or... Cut a hole in the hood. Just run your stock intake and return the RPM while you can still get an RMA.

ok so isn't a440 base a drop base

stock? No. They sell special air filter housings (aftermarket) that mount on the carburetor but are significantly shorter than OEM.

ok can you please tell me where to get one

I would really like to keep the original look and keep the ram air working thanks for the tip

The ram air hoods have even less clearance height wise, don't know what kind of solution is out there for that style of hood

I may have to go to different intake. I just hope it doesn't take to much power from the engine

I have the same set up on my 69 GTX. 440, performer rpm intake, 750 eddy carb. Had to go with a drop base air cleaner from eddy. I think it was a 1 1/2" drop base. If you get to much drop it may interfere with the throttle linkage and electric choke.

Last picture is with stock air cleaner. The 3rd Picture is what I have to run now because stock won't fit. I would like to stay with this stock set-up.
left baseplate is 383 right is 440
