This thread is sort of speculation... I found an old 50's hemi nearby for $350. Would these engines bolt to a 727 torqueflite? Does anybody make conversion kits? Thanks all. It would just seem dang cool to have a somewhat affordable hemi in my car.

I saw one in a C body at a show a while back. It should fit but you will undoubtedly have a few items to sort out to make it work. You would ideally want a later engine as the early ones had an extended bellhousing mounting surface. Google hotheads they make all kinds of stuff for the 1st gen hemis.

You will be disappointed with the performance with anything less than 354 Chrysler. And then spend a lot of money to make them go. I had a 354................................MO

Those old engines are cool. But IMHO they belong in a rat rod or back in what they came in. The old engines are just that OLD and they don't perform like the more modern muscle of the 70's. And the newer junk fuel is slow death to them.

Got to be at least as cool as a 318.....
