Want To Raise My Rear (No jokes please)

I agree if you can get the right spring for the look/rake you like thats great. I thought my 63 may sit to high when I put the 3400 lb SS springs on it but fact was it sat level and I like a tiny rake with the back a tad higher so that why I used the Mr gasket shackles as I wish it had been perfect for me with the stock shackles. I did not want to use air shocks so thats also why I did what I did . Ron

Shackles are OK if you don't go to to high. You lose some lateral stability with the added leverage of the tall shackles, with increased deflection of the rear spring bushings. There was a local kid, that was killed in the seventies, when his Thunderbolt Fairlane rolled over, at a local drag strip, when he lost control, due to high shackles. The track banned cars with the high shackles after that.

UPS sent an email Thursday, stating the spring will be in around the tenth.

I agree that you dont want to go much higher with shackles. As you can see mine are only about 1/2"to 3/4" more then stock. I would not even like much more because I think to long of shackles dont look good either. Mine did not not need much as it only raised the car about 1/2" Ron

OK, why don't you go "old school" and just use some longer rear shackles? You can buy them at most parts stores for about $20 and you don't have to use air shocks.
This will not affect you pinion angle in the slightest. You "may" want to add some shock extensions (another $20) to keep you shock travel the same.

If you do want to run air shocks, put in some "splitters" so that the shocks are aired separately. That way, when you turn a corner, one shock doesn't pump up the other one.
Where do you get shock extenders?
