Hi all,

After much pondering I am going to get my 69 Roadrunner a new set of Wheels Vintiques magnum 500's. 15 x 7 (4-1/4 BS) up front and 15 x 8 (4-1/2 BS) at the rear.

I was thinking of all the usual options, Cragars, Torq Thrust 2's etc but the bird is a totally stock matching number 383 so thought that the Magnums wouldn't stray far from the stock look.

I have the original 14 inch Road wheels (magnum 500 lookalike with the chrome bright rings) on at the moment but want a more aggressive stance.

I plan to put 235/60 R15's on the front and 275/60 R15's on the rear. Would like to put Cobra Radial GT's on (for the price) but can't get them over here in the UK (apart from the 295/50 R15's for some reason) so i will be going with the BFG's.

The questions are please.

Can I use these wheels with the stock 11 inch drums that I have on, and can I use the same wheel nuts that I am using on the Road wheels at the moment or will I need a new set.

Thanks :)

I just put that exact tire combination on mine yesterday...except I went with black steel wheels (15x6.5 and 15x8). no rubbing, no interference and I have stock suspension and stock drum brakes all the way around. judge for yourself As far as lug nuts, I ordered new chrome ones. if you do end up ordering new lug nuts...make sure that the studs you have on driver side are still left hand thread or not before getting new ones...mine were still the original studs. rr69.1x.jpgrr69.2x.jpgrr69.4x.jpg

Thanks djais1801

Yes my drivers side lug nuts are left hand thread as they are original stock hubs.

Those wheels sure fill the arches out well :)

This is mine at a show in the UK last summer.

went for in the end.

Cragar/Unique 177 Supreme Chrome 15 x 8 on the rear and 15 x 7 on the front.
Tires are 255/60R15 on the rear and 215/70R15 on the front. See picture

Here is mine with 15x8's front and rear, 245x60 -15's all 4 corners , I am in the process of getting some steelies and going to use the 275x60-15 nitto drag radials in the rear as a second set of wheels and tires for shows or fun or both. Becarefull with the mag 500's don't let them sit in the weather. My car was recently bent over by a douche bag body shop and they let my car sit outside for 7 months in our worset winter rain season in 5 years and the wheels all got rust spots on them around the valve stem and a few tiny spots where water was just sitting, I had to get the fine steel wool out and wd40 to get it clan but the damage it done. I am trying now to clear coat those areas so I wont have to clan and polish the rust spots every week. SUX!
