I picked up a gagle of engines from retired mechanic/dirt track racer he had stored for ?? years. car will be fun driver, just want to feel the seat of my pants torque., like it used to before before playing with A bodies! seems like I always liked my 383 runners with 4 speeds and 3.55 gears better than anything. like said, this car is 67 Bel1 ....
it will be an 727, stock stall, here is what I have to pick from. several 400's complete engines..., 72-78 vintage. one is steel crank. also 452, 346, 516 heads , an edelbrock dual plane,... also a standard bore 440 cast crank block, less 2 rods/pistons, oem 440 intake ..... last but not least a complete 65 383 looks like never been part, complete afb down..........would have a closed chamber 516 head I guess?
i'm kinda thinking the 65 383 might be the ticket if good core.
no headers, just stock manifolds for sure.
this is typical deal for me,: low budget, old time hotrodding for torque, use what I got, minimal machine work and $$ spent.......old and wore out and retired poor!
any input is appreciated.
