Hi,
I am replacing my original AM radio with the Redondo radio from RetroSound. I am wondering if anyone has done this. The instructions say I need a 12v constant and a 12v ignition power source. Near as I can tell, the original only has 12v ignition. When I metered the second wire to the original radio, it was unpowered. If anyone can point me in the right direction for powering this, I would appreciate it!

the 12 volt constant is for the memory, The cig lighter will work for that . The 12 ignition is the power for the radio operation hook it to any fuse that powers up when you turn the key

Perfect. Thanks!

I just finished installing one in my 70 RR. I also converted over to power windows so I added an aux fuse panel from Painless. Gave me all the extra electrical circuits I needed for everything with spares without over loading the stock electrical system (installed a 5 channel amp in the trunk instead of using the internal amp in the radio).

Just installed the Redondo RT thumb roller in my Coronet. The technology is impressive with Bluetooth, aux inputs, etc. But I'm not impressed with the quality of the unit and the display is larger than the cutout in the bezel. How is your install going?

Hmmm.. My display is actually slightly smaller than the cutout. It was a bit of a pain to line everything up because the thumbwheels are assembled prior to installing the radio and they seem a bit flimsy. The sound is pretty good from both the iPhone and the radio. The multiple functions of each of the thumbwheels take a little getting used to.

The display panel on the radio fit my factory radio faceplate perfectly....hard to tell the difference.

Well, if the two of you had no problems than it must be my faceplate. It's a rebop from Classic Industries.

That's where I got mine. I had more than one faceplate in the box. Though I don't remember them being different sizes..

My Coronet originally came with the 8 track tape option so the original bezel left too much room with the Redondo installed. Got the woodgrain bezel and the display opening is about 3/16" too narrow.

I hope to hear nothing but good things about the redondo radio, I'm really thinking of one for my 68 Coronet

Going to add one of these to my car, I see them on ebay as well now, at Retros web site they show one that says solid state by Plymouth did anyone specific they wanted that or Dodge or do they come with just Chrysler or nothing?
