79-300 Hemi

What idiot would leave it outside, to turn to ****?
 
pulled a 0 mile 360, and put in a 472 hemi with only 200 miles. something smells fishy. bet that car hauls some serious a$$ though!
 
Car hasn't been run in a long time. Mostly sat around. The car only had 200 miles when the swap was done so no telling how many miles on the Hemi.
 
People do crazy things.It is a shame that it has sat outside all this time.If the car could be bought at a reasonable price,,,,,,but if the reserve is like 30 grand...It will be sitting a while longer.
 
Currently at $6400 and not met reserve. The car would be nice but expensive to get back on the road.

Wait,,, I have one of my own,,and a 500 inch big block sitting in the garage, hummm,,,I wonder ?? Na,,,It's not a HEMI......But maybe................... I CAN'T STOP !!!!!!!!
 
Price is now $9400. I think they are in it for the hemi. Hell I'd take the hulk off their hands when they get done pulling the Hemi out!
 
I am on the fence with this one, I like the idea, but as a lot of people are saying, why was it sitting outside for so long and why wasn't (or can't) be titled? Seems like a big risk unless who ever buys it is only looking for the engine.
 
The seller says in NY ic can be titled but you must hang on to it for 2 years prior to being able to resell it. This would be a "grace" period to see if there is any claims to be made on the car by a previous "owner". The ability to title will vary from state to state.
 
In Alberta, the only thing you need to register the car as a collector vehicle (>35 years old) is a bill of sale.

Cars don't get titles here, only real estate does.

Really? Do they have to go through inspections if they are from another province or state?
 
For collector cars, no inspections. Hard to inspect something that is modified, or really old. They do have restrictions on where you can take the collector cars, though. No trips to the shopping mall, or to a restaurant. or to work. You can drive them around, and to car shows, and that pretty much covers it. I needed a bill or sale, and proof of insurace for my 1981 Mirada. That's it.

Daily driven cars from out of province have a very detailed, very time consuming, and very expensive inspection. All the inspection points need to be written down as actual measurements, not just OK/Not OK. The mechanic doing the work needs to check everything. Even cars that are 10 years old or older need a safety inspection upon being sold, even within province.

Massachusetts has one of the toughest inspections to go through, the only thing having an old car is that after 20 years it doesn't have to pass emissions
 
In some cases, in Alberta, they have to measure sheet metal thickness, in multiple areas. Seems like they are targeting grey market Japanese right hand drive cars that are being brought in for the fast and the idiotic crowd. There are a lot of them being driven around here. Problem seems to be road safety, as they are proveably involved in higher accident rates.

I have read of some of the states in the US having some pretty insane inspections, in some cases it doesn't just have to meet emissions standards, it has to pass a visual inspection to make sure that all of the factory original emmission equipment is in place. Why it would matter if the car meets the standards is beyond me, but it is required.

In BC it doesn't matter if its a collector car or not. If its brought in from the US or another province you have to do an in depth BC safety inspection. I went through this with my Coronet a few years ago. You just have to jump through the hops.....
 
This one went for 13k where as the one at Barrett Jackson went for 5k and was running. Strange times.
