Hello everyone I have to replace my fuel tank, straps, sending unit on my 68 roadrunner. I know the most popular vendors like year one, jacks auto parts, etc anyone recommend a place to order this stuff? A guy gave me herbs auto parts or vans auto restoration being the most reasonable. I realize their is probably one or 2 makers of this stuff then the markup by the vendor. Im looking for good quality, good price, made in USA ( too much to ask? ) please let me know your suggestions on vendors who dont rip people off, Im in massachusetts have a good day.

RockAuto.com is a good place. I have bought stuff for my 72 and the quality is the same as a local auto store. Much cheaper too.

I bought a stainless steel one from Classic Industries. I forget who manufactured it, though.

I bought mine from Layson's, a vendor member on this site. Great quality and fit. Canadian made, I believe.

Got my 68 Coronet tank, sending unit and 3/8 lines from summit. All were made by right stuff detailing. No problems at all. .

I've purchased a tank and straps via Classic Industries. No problems. Really just depends on what type of metal you go with for longevity.

My recent thread should help you in this decision:
http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/threads/new-gas-tank-still-leaks.112708/
In a nutshell:
-buy stainless if you can afford it
-if not, a tank made from NITERNE STEEL is next best
-do NOT, under any circumstances, buy the el cheapo tanks. Typically made in a far east country of regular ol' "mild steel", sometimes advertised as being "zinc coated" or plated.
If you want to see how those work out, again, check out my thread. Those tanks get real ugly, real fast.

Last piece of advice:
Use a Mopar factory locking ring on your sending unit. Any others are thinner and cheaper and you stand a good chance of getting a leak there. Pretty common problem with repro tanks.
I have one, courtesy of MoparMitch, if you need it.

Thank you all, yes alot of gas tanks are made out of this country ( and I dont mean Canada)

And... you'll probably need a new fuel sender. When you do get one, make sure it moves freely. I didn't, and now I"m looking at dropping my new tank and removing the damn thing so I can replace it. Sigh.

Buy The Spectra Premium tank It is made in Canada it is not the cheap Chinese galvanized crap! That starts rusting when you put gas in it!

Spectra premium for me as well from rockauto, don't know what kind of metal it is made out of but it seems like a quality tank and the price was right.

Over a year so far with a tank from right stuff detailing. Not 1 issue, still looks great. Oh yeah, and the car is outside with regular use !
