Is there a market for a complete factory exhaust system off of a '68 GTX? I'm needing exhaust for my '67 Satellite, so I was thinking about cutting this up to make it work. However, it's a fairly nice system that's been in a barn for nearly 30 years. I hate to cut up an original piece if some restorer out there is looking for a decent set of factory pipes. This original stuff is getting so hard to come by.

Thoughts? Cut it up? Save it?

ECS had a pretty good right up on here about there exhaust systems so I gave them a try. When I called to make a purchase they only had a factory setup for the 440. They were still looking for a factory 383 setup. Give them a call and see if they still have a need. By the way, mine was for a 69. I also see in the pic that there is a cross over pipe so I'm guessing this isn't for a 383.

Not necessarily looking to sell, although I suppose I could if someone had a need. Just trying to figure out if it would be a sin to cut it up.

That's what I was thinking as well, but it might come to selling it if that is the case.

A new exhaust system is going to be $500 (Pypes kit, Dynomax mufflers). At that price, it's sounding pretty good to slice up the old stuff, as much as I might hate to.

Not sure on specs on a '67, but I would think it would fit yours. Maybe hang just a tad lower?

Only difference is gas tank, right?

Where are you getting a full system for $500, more like $800 or more.

Exactly as I stated above:

Pypes SMB10 - $345.97
Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers 17733 - $46.97 x 2
Hedman reducers 21103 - $27.09/pair

That's a total of $467. Shipping, taxes, clamps, and some scrap 2-1/2" to fill in between the headers and the X-pipe brings me to $500.

We are both correct.
