I'm wanting to get a new clutch unit for my fan, what are the best brands to look at. Replacing a A C unit #NK479A (# from service manual).

Hayden. Clutch fans with problems are hard to diagnose. I've got after market ac. When replaced, the existing thermal/clutch fan was a dime store replacement. Went with the best I could find. Hayden. Works great. Cool under all circumstances, temperature, altitude etc.

There are other brands, but Hayden is good quality, not too expensive, been around a long time & available at most part stores....good call.

I went with the Hayden 2765. It's a heavy duty thermal. Made for the Jaguar. Length is 2.67 which I needed for extra clearance for the Alum radiator.

I have used Hayden and flex-a-lite, no problems with either brand.

I am using a Flex A Lite unit in my Belvedere and have experienced no issues in 100* + temps. I am using it in conjunction with one of their aluminum 6 bladed fans and a shroud.

Just a note of caution here. MP recommends 3/4" minimum clearance. Some folks have bitten into their radiator with less.
