This thread appears on the wheels and tire forum as well. I would like to order tires today so I am rushed. Sorry for the dupe.
I looked trough the forums and threads for an answer to my question. Did not find one. Basically, what am I giving up if I go small on the front and big on the rear? What is ideal for a '67 Satellite with 440 hp and headers that are only 4" off the ground now? Current have 205 70R15 Michelin's on it. I would like to order BFG Coker redlines today. I think I have to stay with 70r15s, but I am concerned about ride & show. I do not race it, but enjoy seeing what it will do in the hills and curves of the Ozarks. If I do not go same size all round (if I do, what do you think about 215 or 225 or 235s?), then I am thinking about a combination of 215 or 225 up front and 255 or 275 on the rear. You can through in 235s if you like. Do I have space? Will I rub the rear on curves? The are going on 500 Magnums that are 6" I think, maybe 7".

I have 215's on the front with 255 on the rear with 8 inch wheels....it makes the 255's look wider than a 7 inch rim

That is kind of what I had in mind if it doesn't make it look too racy We are only talking 1 1/2" wider on the rear. How is it handling on open road? Any noticable "bounce or tracking"?

no issues....handles like a 49 year old car with outdated suspension

consider your rim width. measure what you have. call the tire store, they can tell you the widest tire your rim will accept and be safe. are these Coker red lines radial or biased tires. the old biased tires ride and handle like crap. from a child of the 60's!

You can afford Coker Redlines? Good for you man. I run cheap Coopers and love them.

Thanks for all the input. Ya, I went with Coker 225 70R15 seein' how the car came with 215 redlines (according to spec I read and comments made) and I need the height for the Hookers and 3" exhaust. Somehow I just don't feel as comfortable hitting these curves here in the Ozarks, and powering through them, with two different sized tires. Guess I'm just too old and don't have the balls to try something different. Thanks again for all the replies, they were helpful.
