Who here has used PG Classics and what if so are your thoughts. I have used Legendary as well as PUI interior items. I really did not see much difference in fitment and not much in quality either. I know everyone swears by legendary but budget wise PG Classics looks pretty appealing to me. I am a ways out but shopping all the less.
Thanks

I used PUI for my door panels on my Road Runner. I just bought replacement Legendary door panels at Carlisle so I can get rid of the PUI. The PUI door panels have really weak pressboard material. After installation, if you ever try to pull them out again to fix something in your door, you are likely to rip out a few of the clips from the pressboard when you try to pry them out of the door. Yes, I was careful, but I still had some tear out. With the OEM door panels, you can rip those suckers off and on forever and they stay in decent shape.

Are the legendary ones closer to OEM quality with respect to the pressboard? I sure hope so...

Thanks to all who posted. I had no complaints with PUI or Legendary for that matter. But Legendary has priced there selves out of my budget. I did my super bird with Legendary because I heard they were the best. But I was a working man at that time and now I am retired. And it is hard to say who makes there covers. Most buy from someone and resell . But for my 68 the Legendary prices are HIGH!! So thinking of giving this PG a try because they list the entire interior for my 68. I don't want to mix and match brands.

PG Classics is out of Canada ehh but most likely there all imported almost everything is.

A friend of mine redid the seats in his 71 Roadrunner with the PG upholstery kit. They looked good in the box and that's probably were he should have left them. Actually the front seats didn't look to bad when installed but the rear seat was impossible to fit. He had a professional install them and he did his best but the rear never looked right. This was a few years ago and hopefully what they sell fits better now. If it were me I think I would go with legendary. Just my 2 cents...

Does PG/BEA make their own or resell PUI?

You have to be picky about PUI.

Their 73/74 stuff is not 100% correct, but the 66/67 stuff is pretty nice.

I would probably be ok if PG sold PUI. I myself have had pretty good luck with their stuff. I am not saying all of it is good but I haven't had any that was bad. The thing is I don't want junk in this car. But on the other hand PG Classics for all the parts I need are about 500 less than Legendary. For some reason 68 charger stuff is way more expensive than even my Super Bird stuff was. The first pictures below are PUI 71 Chevelle seats I did my self. The third is PUI on a 71 mustang I did about 5 years ago. Granted it don't get driven much but they are really holding up well.

That is really what the post is about I guess is where there stuff is made. It seems no one on this forum has used their stuff. I think I will give them a call and try to find out and I will post my findings.
Thanks

Yes they are pretty stiff, however..........
The set I got came with instructions to start poking around with a bent rod that has a flattened and sharpened end. You are supposed to dig out the perforated first layer (as I understood the directions) of the board and spread out in a fan shaped area to slip the clips in between two layers. Evidently it is intended to obscure the clip bumps on the face side. Ha, there was no definite division that indicated two layers in mine. So I tried to create two layers along the bottom line of clips with this "tool". What a pain to do and I noted these perforated areas run all the way through the board. The thicker padded areas I just dug it all out to the padding.
I bought some new YO clips. For the cost you'd think you'd get quality, but NOT! A couple were absolute s_it and I'll refer you to the pictures and let you decide. Suggestion: Don't toss any good originals.

Well I never did get an answer out of them on who makes the upholstery they sell so wont be dropping any of my coin at PG Classics for sure.

I have used Legendary Interiors for 2 of my "classic's"....lately my 70 Roadrunner Convertible....not sure what the pricing is compared to the others but their quality is top notch.......the closest you can get to it is from a custom shop which usually is very expensive. If you plan on keeping the car go with Legendary......if your going to "flip" the car I guess go with one the cheaper brands..........

I used PUI for the rear cargo area on my 67 Malibu wagon. After 6 months the backing curled and the vinyl came loose. Draw your own conclusions. On my 68 Runner I went Legendary all the way, their stuff is top notch and made in the USA. Ya pay your money and take your chances, sometimes twice.
