hello mopar heads,i posted a couple of days ago about a loud vacum noise.and you guys suggested it was a bad brake booster,it wasnt.i opened the hood and gave it throttle, at high throttle i hear a little high rev vacum sound and screetching , from pulley belt housing , and i seen that the one of the pulley stoped spinning from inside the pulley mechanism. but the belts kept moving. its that pulley system in front of the heater core, any suggestiones highly appreciated.its a 383 4bbl 727 trans 1969 plymouth sattie vert.

Your AC compressor has frozen up.

its off and on ,like one day i will cruise for 20 minutes, and no noise, now today i punched it at a yellow light and it started while giving throttle but wont make noise at idle.

That isn't a picture of your motor?

That's an A/C pump for sure and whether it works or not your car has A/C.

I'd start with making sure that's it, pull the belts and spin the accessories by hand checking for slop, noise, roughness, etc. If you watch the A/C pulley does the hub in the center spin? If it does try unplugging the A/C pump wire and see if it stops (the center should only spin when the A/C in on).

hey your right ,because a couple of days ago ,i pushed some ac buttons by accident, and i wanted the heat button, on the dash.i will do that what you recommended, ,,thanks so much.

That is actually the A/C compressor without removing any belts you should be able to turn the center of the compressor by hand or with a socket and ratchet if it does not turn easily you will need a compressor and a couple of other items after closer inspection if that is what it is yes you can unplug the electrical connector to it and continue to drive it until you obtain the parts to correct the concern

well come to find out it was the fan ,there is a washer coming out,,its has a little play.do they sell these washer/bearings do i just take fan apart and install new bearing/washer?or do i need a whole new fan? you can see that washer/bearing coming out its like orange rubber over metal.

They sell the clutch as an assembly you transfer your fan to it just remove those 4 bolts that attach it to the water pump I do not know if it will clear your shroud you may have to remove fan and shroud together

Agreed, you'll just need a new clutch for the fan. Summit has aftermarket ones as well but you'd have to compare measurements to confirm that it will fit.

update..i orderd my new fan clutch. couldnt help noticeing the radiator had a circular impression from the fan clutch,,wow ,it must of came out an inch for that to happen, from the shot fan clutch,,so now i need to put on the stock radiator, the previous owner gave me with the car. also my fan looks pretty good still. i just had to bend one fan blade back a little .it was a 1/4 inch inward. can i still use it?can someone give me a quick lesson on removal and install...also of fluids, etc,,i know its asking a lot,,,, but i would appreciate it , my fellow mopar heads.if not ...,is there a link for radiator removal install?cheers ,,,its friday.:usflag:

Better check your water pump to make sure it's not the problem. My uncle's 70' RR put the fan into the radiator due to the water pump taking a dump. Take out the old radiator and install the new one in reverse of what you did to get it out. Also get 5 gallons of distilled water and 2 gallons of antifreeze. Fill everything with the water first so if you have any leaks, it's just water coming out. All good? now drain 2 gallons of water out and add the antifreeze. Fan should be ok, wouldn't worry about it if you got the blade back to where it should be.

yeah good point about the water pump,,because they sell them as a pair fan clutch and waterpump together... i will do that ,thanks my friend.have a good weekend.:thankyou:
