My brother has a Belvedere 1966 that is a low milage ontouched
car in very good shape.

There is a mystic looking "box" between the fuelfilter and carburator.

We suspect that it is som kind of fulel pressure restrictor, the box looks
like it has been there from factory but it have come to our knowlage
that it maybe not.

Do anyone here know if tis was mounted in the factory and
what this thing does ?

Showed this pic to a Chrysler mechanic, who owns a 66 and worked on many more in his day. He's never seen this part on a factory installation. We also reviewed original shop manuals on the 66 Plymouth series, and no such part was shown or mentioned. Not seeing the rest of the part, and depending on whether or not, that is an adjustment screw or just a plug - I'm wondering if it's simply an old aftermarket fuel block, allowing easy access to the fuel line or perhaps attach a fuel gauge... It will be interesting to see if any other old timers recognize this part. Good luck :)

Or maybe one of those "platinum gizmos" they used to sell in the back of Hot Rod & Car Craft......"increases mileage 50%" type snake oil thing.

I've seen one of them before but it wasn't on a mopar, it was on a vw. I figured it was a jc Whitney gas mileage gimmick and took it off

Our family 66 Citron Gold 4 door Belvedere II 273 had no such device, but it was likely a Whitney/Warshawski magnet thingy as others say, someone made a nice professional looking installation that just survived.

Thanks guys for all help !

I think i found this thing on google:

"GT Energy Chamber" :)

My brother is going to take it out today.
