I am new to this forum so please forgive me if my questions and comments sound dumb. I've finally broken free from the GM addiction that I had for too many years and went back to my Mopar roots. My first car was a Medium Blue 65 Satellite with a 383 and four speed that I bought in the summer of 1968 when I was a junior in high school. I thrashed it all through high school then sold it and have been through too my GM cars since. I was fortunate to buy a twin to my Plymouth two years ago when I found a documented low mileage survivor Medium Blue 65 Satellite with factory AC and PS that had the original 318/727 replaced with a 440 and big block 727. The car is awesome and brings back many fond memories and am planning on keeping it forever. My daily driver is a 2006 Go-ManGo Daytona that I bought new in December 2005. I love the way my Daytona drives and would be thrilled if my 65 Satellite ran, handled and rode as nice as the Charger. Am I delerious to think that I can swap in a late model 5.7 or 6.1 Hemi and upgrade the suspension to drive and handle like my Daytona? I appreciate any advice and suggestions.

I have a 2013 Daytona. I put a 5.7/NAG1 on an AlterKtion front and 4 link rear suspension in my 70 GTX. I would just a soon drive the GTX as I would the Daytona! I get 18mpg in the GTX too. A lot of work and plenty of $$$$$$ but it was worth it to me.

Thanks for the replies. Darius, I wish I was still in Roseville so I could see your GTX up close. I just moved to AZ last year. I see that some companies offer suspension upgrades for 66 and later B Bodies but not much for my 65. My thoughts have been to install a front IFS setup with a four link rear and see that Schwartz and Freakride may have something for my car. I would really like a 6.1 but a 5.7 like my Charger would be just fine. I want to drive the car on long distance road trips comfortably with equivalent performance to the 440 I have now. I have even considered just putting one of the new EFI setups on my 440 but I'm stymied on how to get a decent overdrive setup. I've thought of putting a Gear Vendors in but they aren't cheap which is why I am thinking something like your setup.

My dad has a Daytona just like that I love driving it

I love the way the Daytona rides, drives and handles and the performance and fuel mileage are great. If I could just get my Satellite to drive close to how the Charger does I would be thrilled and have the best of both worlds.

Look at my thread....late model hemi into early b body, here on the forum. And yes, all the suspension stuff for the later B's will work on your 65'! So it can and will handle very nicely!

Thanks Hemi. I looked for your build thread but not having any luck. Can you give me a hint where to find it or the link to it? I'm really leaning towards doing the gen III engine/trans swap and whatever suspension upgrades will give me the best ride and performance but want to make sure I have a good plan in place before starting the project.

It's in the 62-65 section. RMS has the front suspension covered and the also have a rear set up.
