I put in factory spec buckets in my '63 Fury years back finding a set used to restore dumping the original bench. I'd like to upgrade to higher back or headrest seats either finding something reasonably compatible or just the seat-backs that would fit the seat pan. Has anyone made this sort of conversion having any advice? Thanks!

You know I am seeing more and more classic car & truck owners going to OEM bucket seats they find at the salvage yards and are getting them pretty cheap. Very comfortable and usually are powered 6 way even heated.......Just take some measurements of your floor seat pan and head over to a local salvage yard and see if any will fit.....you might be surprised what you find.

Thanks for the reply soundhd. The seats are pretty wide compared to what I've looked at-at swap meets. They're 24" across, wider than the buckets in my Dakota! Several I've looked at are all in the 21" area. Was hoping to stay somewhat with the look of the era maybe using later 60's or 70's seats or finding one that has some resemblance. A search through the boneyard though is a good idea.
