I always referred a car like this one as, a car that's all there but needs everything.
As I look at car more it just dawned on me that I have everything this car needs. I am starting to talk myself into justifying purchasing this car. It is a deserving 4-speed Dana car. I believe the bid is maxed out about now. I am watching auction to see where it gets to.

I guess I'm out of touch on what cars are worth. At $14k right now its waaaay overpriced. For me anyway. There's no way that car should be over $8-10k IMO. There is, at minimum, $30k needed to get it back, that's if you can do almost everything yourself. I went to a sale this summer and there was a 69 RR there that did $15k, same story. 1 owner, parked in '78. This one ran and drove. It needed $5-6k worth of sheetmetal, price delivered to the door. Not installed, painted. I always try to work backwards. What's it worth and what do I need to spend to get it there, that tells me what I can spend for the car itself.

Great car for sure. I like a project but at $14k it's overpriced for me. It should be saved but I won't be the one saving it.

I had bought an original rust free limelight 70 Roadrunner body in '88 for $500. No tags on it but door vin sticker is rm23v0g. It is still in barn, same spot I put it when bought. I am just the guy that might buy this GTX at this price. I am still trying to justify the cost though.
I also passed on rusty 6 pack Roadrunner in '95 for $5k. I thought that was too much at the time. My how time fly's .

I wish MY car was in that good of shape when I started working on it! Very cool car & will cost more than it's worth to restore.

I was given my Dad's 1972 Dodge Challenger and it was a full rotisserie restoration similar to what this GTX looks like. Completed two years ago. It was 50K easy when all said and done. And the car was free. I had to do it because it was my Dad's and I drove it to high school in the 70's. Would I do it again.....no way.
Buy one done.

is this car worth the purchase price no is it worth putting a ton of money into no ,But it will be to some one that loves the 70 GTX and has the love for that one car in there life and a lot of money and time ,hope it goes to some one with all that instead of a metal cube idea

Well it looks like somebody thinks its worth 15 grand. If the thought process dictates that every car in this condition is not worth restoring,very soon all we will have left is overpriced cars. While i think 15 grand is to much,i think the car is restorable. It may be cheaper in the long run to buy one in better shape but not everyone has deep pockets. Or some want to do it there way. This is a one owner complete car with the original parts and it is worthy of a proper restoration. Good luck

Not worth that sort of money due to what needs to be spent on it to bring the car back to the life it deserves. I love the car and combo of options, but man that is one rusty MoFo. My car is probably only a week younger than this one from the same assembly line....what a difference a week makes.

wow I was thinking 10 maybe 12 . as a 4 speed track pack car it deserves a full resto ,I hope whoever bought it didn't buy it to rebody a satellite. would be interested in the cars story if it was genuinely taken off the road 46 years ago thats when it was brand new ,maybe one of the last " my son bought it before going to nam , he didn't come home " cars

Its sold for 14 plus. Hopefully the person who bought it knows what there getting into and will give it a quality restoration it so properly deserves. The plus side to this is there will be another Mopar resurrected to its former glory.

IMOP-10-12 is STILL too much. My car's original owner bought my car 6 months(?) before he went to Nam. Went to Nam and was killed. His parents started to drive it to church and to the store.

It looks complete....a complete pile of junk! Do as others have suggested, buy one done! You will have over $50 k in this car before you even realize it and then you will need another $20k+ to finish it!! Been there done that on one that was in (or looked like it) WAYYYYYY better shape than that one.

is it fixable? yes it certainly can be fixed
is it a good investment? HELL NO
that ship has sailed long ago.
for someone like me who does their own work and
has frame rails,nos rockers and alot of other 68-70 metal in my stash
it might not be so bad a deal.
if you had to buy that and then build up a stash of parts to fix..it is a bad deal.
don't do your own work? it is a bad deal
what it has going for it is that it looks pretty complete
besides the cool color and options.

this is not a car for most people
but for a select few people out there,it just could be.
someone thought enough good of it to throw 14gs at it.
