Has anyone used the AMD bumpers if so has the fit and the chrome.I am needing them for a 71 charger

I got one AMD bumper for my Barracuda. It is similar to the original ones in that they are not really "show" parts. They have minor imperfections in them just as the original new ones did. Good enough for a driver IMO, but if you are building a show pony, take nice cores (or new AMD) to a local re-chrominance shop.

My friend just got a set for his 71 Charger and the fit was great. They cost just as much as getting them re-chromed and to me they look really good so I plan to get them for my 71 when the time comes.

The chrome is garbage on amd bumpers im on the east coast around the ocean and my bumper in storage rusted within a year

Oops, didn't mean to enter .....If the AMD are not lasting, where do I go to find decent bumpers that WILL last? Without having good cores and no place locally to get rechromed here in Alaska, I don't have a lot of choices except to purchase and pay the outlandish shipping....not something I want to repeat every other year! My originals are dented and dinged and not what I want as a final piece of bling after I get her painted. Your thoughts group?

Chrome shops can fix many little dings and dents before they rechrome. Did you Google search a chrome shop up there? Plus, you could buy new AMD and just keep them waxed on the surface. I like to hit the backsides with POR15s Peuclid clear. Same as the chrome wheel rears.

Keystone chrome is the best ive ever seen quality wise thats who i use. Tri city was great but from what im seeing there work got not what i would say as show quality and bumper boyz is the worst ive ever seen. Its hard to find a good chrome shop anymore

I bought a front bumper from Bumper Boyz after having them open six of them to find the last one defect free. I wouldn't buy from them sight unseen. After 16 years and POR15 clear Peuclid on the backside, it is still in perfect shape and has nice chrome.

The last and only chrome replater in AK died three years ago from the toxins he breathed. Actually, my front bumper has more then just a ding, it was bent/twisted from a fender bender. Freight to the lower 48 (down and back for both bumpers)is close to $400 so I will have to get more opinions on NEW or repair and re-chrome. Not ready for them yet and have some time to keep looking and asking. Thanks for the help and suggestions.

Got a front bumper for the 68 from Summit. Yes AMD yes the chrome is not show quality. Free shipping though. They dont ship to Alaska for free but maybe if you put in a big enough order they could shave some shipping costs for you. Give them a call, cant hurt. Yes Ogden Chrome is top notch but rechroming a new bumper with shipping is going to put the cost into outerspace. Maybe you could ship it from summit (free) to Utah, Chrome it and have them ship to you. Just think if you were in Hawaii. Slow boat or air... Yikes..
