That 70 RR/GTX hood Idea looks decent....

git r' dun....LOL

First I'm praying for you and your daughter and hope all is going well.
That hood looks good on there, I had a 70 RR hood on my 67 R/T and I do like the look of it. I needed a little more clearance when I changed intakes though. Making it yourself means you can make it as tall as you need. Good work on the nose section too!

Anything new been done ?

I like the rr hood idea, I have one I was going to do that on a 72 once but never did it. Looks good can't wait to see more and it finished

Good luck Ghost

sorry about the daughter deal...

git r' dun

You are crossing the line between auto repair and art, sir.

So....I finally got up to no good out in the man cave. I got interested in the turn signal housings and decided to disassemble and clean them up. The screws were frozen of course, so I cut the backs off of the screw mounts and taped them out. The lenses cleaned up nicely but one of the bulb sockets was rusted real bad inside. I sanded them down and took out the pits and old paint. Sprayed them black and then wiped off the chrome parts while the paint was still wet. Need to get some gloss black to hand paint the in-between spaces. Look much better now though. Onwards to the headlight shells next. I also sanded down the inside of the right fender and massaged the bent spots to get everything straight again. I took the headlight frame assembly off of the front end and set it aside to detail later, now that I know the 66 Charger lights will work and I have all of the mounting bits in hand. It's good to be back at it too!

Glad to se you back at it too...

Good luck & have fun

I managed to weld/ braze the broken grille back together today. I had to mount it on two aluminum rails so it would stay in the correct position while I worked on it. I used the last 8 inch stick of the "MuggyWeld" low temp solution for white/ pot metal joining. Worked great, nice and solid now. I wish I owned a Dremel tool set so I could get the weld joints nice and perfect. I left it bolted up while I sanded and cleaned it up and painted it. I used 0000 steel wool to clean off the chrome parts. It's still a driver quality part but it looks 100% better than it did. I also sanded, repaired, and primed the right fender inside and out. I welded closed the antenna hole and turn signal indicator mounting holes. A bit of filler to hold it till I can get to it later. On to the left side...update........took the grille off the rails and it is solid as a rock, like brand new.

Got busy yesterday and tackled a few half finished items on the Express. The passenger floor pan got sewed up and the right tub finally finished, and I cleaned up a headlight case, also installed the right front spring relocation bracket! Yaay!! Making progress again.
