I have a pair of fenders from my `65 Belvedere that I no longer need. Building an AWB car and will go with a pair of fiberglass fenders. The original steel fenders are super straight but do have a small (easily repairable) rust spot on each. I hate to throw them away but don't really want the hassle of trying to ship them to a potential buyer. For any of members in the Houston TX area, you're welcome to have them free of charge on a first-come-first-serve basis if you'll come pick them up. Hate to throw them out as they're getting pretty hard to find but my wife wants the back yard cleaned up and I don't have room for them in my shop. I live about 25 miles south of Houston.
Steve

IF nobody picks them up I will be glad to pay for the shipping and your trouble!

Thanks for the interest, but I really don't have the material and facilities (not to mention the skill...) to box up the fenders. I could probably take them to one of those pack-and-ship places but suspect the cost will be very high due to the amount of cardboard needed, their mark-up, etc. Greyhound used to carry big stuff on their buses but I checked with them already and they want the fenders packed...Steve

A wife is supposed to help.
Maybe you can ask her to help box the fenders if she is so interested seeing them properly relocated to new home.
Trying to have charitable feelings but finding myself annoyed.
Can you ask her to also liquidate a few items, perhaps some under-utilized shoes?
Just to maintain parity and a spirit of cooperation, of course.

Steve... I am trying to find another member near Houston to come and get those fenders. I have another friend in West Texas that would get them from him and hold for me. Please stand by..
Mitch

Also, I tried to PM you.. Don't think they are going through. Try to Pm me and we can exchange phone numbers.
Thanks, Mitch

Mitch - I'm a computer neophyte as my 14-yr old son reminds me every day...what does "PM" mean and how do I do it? I can send post my e-mail address or phone # if it would help - not sure if the forum allows this.

And for the member that posted the unkind comment about having a supportive wife...she's let me use the whole 6-car garage as my shop while she parks her car out in the scorching TX sun and periodic torrential rains so I think I'm getting the better half of the deal. She also lets me spend hours/days/weeks in the shop working on my cars without a single complaint. Keeping the yard clean doesn't seem like much of a sacrifice. Steve
