Hello everyone. New guys here and would like to tell everyone a bit about us and how we ended up here. My name is Chris and my son's name is Chris. My son wanted an old car to be his first car, my wife and me surprised him last month on his 17th birthday with a 73 Plymouth. Needless to say he is in heaven, he has his old car. The motor runs great, a few small things to take care of, a new set of tires and on the road she goes. The body is all there just needs a lot of repairing/replacing, the interior is also complete but needs a complete overhaul. No complaints from him, this is what he wanted. I worked on cars and have done minor body work but that was years ago and on race cars. I/we are brand new to the restoring side of cars, will have questions and wanted somewhere to go with experience. Thank you for allowing us to join and hope that not only can we receive information here but one day be able to give advice.

welcome to the both of you , great place for finding all the info you need  . what sort of 73 Plymouth did you get him ?
pics we need pics

I looked up the vin and this is what I have learned so far about the car. 73 Satellite Sebring Plus 2 door hard top. Was built with a 318 but that was removed before we go it, now under the hood is a 400 with a edelbrock intake and a 4 barrel holly sitting on top. We have not been able to do to much to it just yet. My son has all the pic on his phone and is at the shore for the last weekend with friends. When he gets back I will post some better pics. We are at the going over stage right now to make sure it's safe for him and the road. Then after that we plan on doing a tear down piece by piece and replace as needed.

Welcome from a wet, windy NC! That will be fun for you and your son. I restored a 66 Satellite with my dad and it is some of the best times we spent together. I am looking for a 69 RR to restore with my son to give him the same experience. I know you guys will enjoy it! Look forward to watching your journey on here. Can't wait to see some more pics!

Welcome from MI. Congrats on the car and the build with your son. I never had the chance to do that kind of stuff with my dad, though I do get to from time to time with my brother. Enjoy the time together.
