I'll be painting my 383 soon and need to get some turquoise engine paint. I was looking at the Por15 chrysler turquoise and before I commit was wondering if anyone has good results with it. Is the color close to factory ? Also read good things about Bill Hirsch engine paints but wonder about the color as well ....

Here are my POR 15 painted engine photos. I am very happy with the way it looks (now 16 years old)! I painted it while still in the car with a brush and the paint flowed out like it was sprayed. Nice product, highly recommended! Even the sides of the valve covers next to the exhaust manifolds never even burned or browned out like other paints due to exposure to high heat.

16yrs ago ! That looks great ! Can you remember if it covered well or needed a bunch of coats ?

You must be a purist - which I understand. I went with Hemi orange on my 68 GTX. Against the grain but I love it.

A purist, yes and no. I do like mods and changes for the better, but I do appreciate stock also. I like cast iron blocks covered with aluminum goodies, but I like it painted in stock colors. Just looks clean to me. Maybe it's the art of deception also ! My 70 340 swinger has an orange engine, my 68 Coronet will be turquoise ....
