Raised White Color Issues (Pics)

Well I Googled, "brown letters on tires" and it looks like it's been a problem for at least the last ten years or so. Especially BFG's.
Apparently it is the wax that's incorporated in the rubber, to keep it from drying out, that comes to the surface. It's called "blooming", and after washing the tire over a period of time , it will stop bleeding through as much.

Read the pages of information about this subject on Moparts. It appears to happen to 255 60-15 and 275 60-15 the most. Experienced it myself and even had a pair exchanged out by Discount Tire.

This is good to know as I am starting to experience this on my brand new Cooper Cobra G/T's. Guess I'll have to scrub them with Westley's more often.

I had 3 sets replaced by BFG and I have finally given up, I used AWESOME cleaner ( cheap stuff from dollar general ) it cleaned them up , lasts about 2 weeks

Just washed them this morning with Wesley's and a SOS pad. It definitely helped but not perfectly white (happy with progress). I will do it again next week and see if we have more improvement. I will keep doing it as Kid suggested.

I bought a set of Metzeler tires for my Harley, black sidewalls, and those tires turned an awful color of brown. Quite a few washings before they started to look a natural color. They were a nice, soft compound tire too.

If you are using a "tire shine" product such as Armor All, I would stop using it. It makes the white look tinted green .........................MO
