I was very disappointed in my local show today. For the last few years I have been bringing my 70 RR to our local show sponsored by the Lions Club, all proceeds going to charity. Usually they advertise a few months before online and then post signs all over town at least a month before. In August I looked for the date online. Found nothing. Never saw a sign posted around town. This morning around 11, I was dropping my daughter off somewhere and saw signs for Car Show with an arrow. Nothing else. I went to the shopping center where they always held the show and sure enough, it was on. We have always had at least a 100 cars there. Today, 25-30 cars tops. I didn't even bring my car cause it was already after 1:00. Very sad that a charity organization drops the ball so poorly. There were 3 Mopars there. The 70 FC7 Cuda won its category. A real beauty, matching numbers 426/4 speed. Also there was a nice 73 Charger and a Coronet 440, I think a 67. Here's the pics.

Not surprised. I've noticed a lot of "non-promotion" for cruises & shows, as if they have no clue how to do it. I found out about one while reading a local paper in my barbershop recently, while nobody I knew had any knowledge of it whatsoever.

Cool charger thanks for sharing the crusins are falling off here we used to get 200-230 cars last month we had 88-90 ish show could be the weather tough!

NJRR sounds like a good time for you to take charge of the show.

Snakeoil- If I had the time I would consider it. My point was, if you are going to take something on, do it right. Especially when other people are giving up their time to participate.

Thanks for that link. Never saw it before. I searched it and the show wasn't listed there either.
NJRR I'm not nit picking with you, just feed back, just that the show was listed at the time I posted, and had all the information with the lions email there also. I also hate to find out about a show after the fact.
Right now at my location there is a big sign in red letters on the Fairgrounds fence "CAR SHOW HERE". :wtf:
EDIT: Now the sign shows this, "CAT SHOW SATURDAY".

Dual Fours- That website is great and I found some shows listed locally that I didn't know about. There was a search function where you can enter the date and zip for shows and I entered yesterday's date and my zip. Some different shows came up, but not the one in my town. That's why I wrote that it wasn't listed.

That sucks, man. Shows usually rely on volunteers to get the word out. Few organizations can afford to buy radio or TV time to reach a huge audience. Posting up flyers around town and putting the word out online is the norm. Again, from my experience, nobody ever gets paid to do any of it. There is the problem: FREE help is sometimes worth exactly that.

Too bad, the cars you showed were nice,
some smaller cars shows are sometimes a nice change...

Maybe next year, it'll get the proper exposure...

thanks for sharing anyway...
