I have a slant 6 I've been looking to use but it's a 3 speed standard and would like a 727 but not sure if they were available.

Yes, Chrysler built 727's for slant 6's. A 904 would be better though . . .

The early slanty 727s used a small block case and an adapter! Later they cast a slant six bellhousing for the 727.

My old neighbor[back in the 70's] had a 70 Dart with a /6. It had a trailer towing pkg, and came with a 727 and an 8 3/4 rear. I was kinda surprised.

You could order a taxicab Slant6 w/ 727 back in the day. 904 probably a better way to go.

The 727 takes more HP to operate but will outlast the 904 every time.
I recall seeing junkyard slanty six 70-72 Dart 4 door cars with 8 3/4 axles and wondering WTF ??? I later learned that the 8 3/4 axle was the deafult HD axle for the towing package. In 1973 the 8 3/4 axle was dropped and the 8 1/4 axle became the choice for 340/360 and HD applications.
