I don't own a winged car, I have a nice '66 Imperial ragtop. Drove that to the local Cars and Coffee in suburban OKC this morning. Also there is a friend's Superbird. This is the same car that was on an episode of "Counting Cars" where the Count got to drive it for a spell on the show. Anyway, we parked side-by-side. Once I was out of my Imperial, I realized that the Superbird's overall length is identical to the Imperial! Just a cool observation. With pictures.

Man, I'd like to drive that Imperial. 413. Is that the one with the square steering wheel? I drove a 63 Crown over Sonora Pass. Still have not forgotten that ride. Sweet. And, the howl of the Bias tires was a bonus.

When I saw the thread title, I was looking forward to a Stang or M4 launching over a traffic island! No injuries of course. When you floor them, they turn left you know.

1966 was the first year of the 440, and then only in "C" & "D" bodies. No square wheel in these; that ended with the '63 models. The Imperial hits its stride on the highway, as 70-80 mph is easy. And I get 14 mpg at speed, too!

I went to cars & coffee in GB Kentucky in my GTX. When I pulled into the parking lot, saw nothing but corvettes & new camaro's and one mustang. I just drove through and kept going.

You should've stayed... that was kinda rude of you to not stay with those more mundane cars..... you would've added excitement to the boredom.

Nice thing about Cars and Coffee gathering is that EVERYBODY shows up with just about anything! And they are all enthusiasts. You sell yourself short by doing a "drive-through".
