Hey, I blew a head gasket and wrecked my block and one head (440). I found a 76 motorhome engine complete with 76 x miles, though I'll need to bore it anyway. Do you guys know what heads might be on it, and if they would be ok to run on a street car that sees the track one or two weekends a year. My rotating assembly is good, I'll move it into the new block, just wondering if it's worth it. Thanks

They are not known for HP but for the street will work just fine. Depends on how much HP you're looking for. They are open chamber - I no longer have the casting no's. They have the advantage of extra coolant flow around the plugs.

never heard of 452's on motorhomes.

Yep they actually make a 452 motorhome head than has extra steam ports drilled in them that the car 452's don't have. I have a set.

Are they a small spark plug head ?

Thought so. Heard that the MH head took the taper plug, never saw one.

I have 2 1976 440 out of motorhomes. They both have 452 heads. But the class a motorhome engine has small plug heads and steam holes and the class c engine has regular car heads.

I just picked up a 72-73 440 mh engine, has forged crank and looks like possibly the larger 6pack rods. Heads are 3751213, any info ? They have the small plugs.

The 213's are 73 400/440 motor home heads. Look at them real good. Should have big cooling ports also steam ports to the exhaust valves and plugs. Probably the most durable head they put out. Think I have a set of those laying around too.

Thanks I'm just using the block, gave crank to a friend have rods and heads still.
