Changes to PM procedures

This comes across as more defensive than anything.

Its not defensive --- but you have to understand, we are not, under any circumstances, going back to the old software. The valuable feedback you gave was essentially "I don't like it" ---- well, unfortunately, I cant do much with that. Now, if you ask specific questions like "How do I do this" --- I and other members can be more helpful.

And the security issues and lack is site background support still does not explain the drastic changes in overall site layout and location of how to access things.

Yes it does, because we changed software in order to deal with those things. Different software packages are going to do some things differently. But that aside, things really aren't THAT much different.

So, if you can ask specific questions, I can probably be more helpful.

Thanks cranky- you always make me smile. I'm not PO'd at all - just giving honest feedback. It's a luxury to have this site in the first place.

I'm glad to see you agree the quantity of changes all at once was high just like I said.

Are you an engineer or work as one :D Just kidding :). I'm 65 and even though it was a bit frustrating for me at first, I'm fine with it now. Biggest learning curve was the PM system but after a bit, I got a hold of it. I think it was a harder learning curve for me because I go so many all at once when the change was made. Also, another site I'm on also got a new system and it was even more of a change than here so I got a double whammy lol. Besides, no use in being POed about it because this is the way it is now and it's not going to be like it was. Kinda like real life....nothing stays the same.

Ummm, while I understand all of this Joey, are you saying or implying that if over the course of the next year you received a high number of feedback like mine about the site that you would not consider another change? Kind of a like it or leave it approach?

I hope not.

Thanks again for all you do. As most of us realize, we know you do far more work behind the scenes for us to have this site than any of us can know.

Ok... Let me explain a little better. Going back to the old software is not an option, period. There isn't even a way to go back as there is no conversion utility.

That said, would I consider switching to yet another software? Probably not. Fact is, people are posting, starting threads, buying and selling parts, just like before. Traffic isn't down. Beyond that, most members I have talked to who had concerns such as yours, once they worked with the software a little bit and asked a few questions, caught on and felt the changes were GOOD changes.

And let me point out -- you still haven't asked me how to do anything. What is it you are having a hard time finding?

I have logged back on five or six times to give it another go and I can't find anything quickly.

I ask again... What is it you are having a hard time finding? I cant improve things if I don't know what the problem is specifically.

I post pictures via photobucket into a pm/conversation with zero issues........ this site kicks ***, thanks Joey

Joey

With the old system, I was able to save my PM's so I could keep track of purchasing information. With the conversation format, is there a way I can save a conversation on my computer?

Thanks, and thanks for your kind words on holidays & birthdays!
