I have a 1973 Charger 340 Rallye. When I purchased it, the grill had the red bar piece in the grill. I have seen it either way on photos of Rally editions. Is it an extra option, meant for the SE's, or did some just take it off?

I believe the red bars were only for the SE. Your PO must have purchased new grills from an SE and replaced yours. It is easy to return them to the Rallye grills by just undoing the nuts and removing them.

Yeah I removed it to clean up and repaint the grill. I have the red bar restored and looking good as well. Guess that's another piece to go into my unused room. Lol

Thanks

SE grilles are diff than regular grilles, so not the red bar.

SE grilled got chromed edges all around, and everthing of the rest painted argent.

Regulars are argent without any chrome on them and black finish on horizontal fins top surfaces and deep areas
