I want to re paint my 69 RR 440 6 Pak car. And Im trying to figure out what this color is called. Its a Bright Halloween Orange with a black lift off F/G Hood. I think the factory called it Hemi Orange. Was that a factory color? I've also heard of a vitamin C Orange. Are those 2 different colors orange?

My factory fender tag was missing when I got the car. Not originally a 6 Pack car. Was a 383 car.

Vitamin C I believe......

I second the Vitamin C exterior paint color. I believe Hemi Orange was for the motor.

Oh yea that's the color mine is. One of my favorites! I have a thread showing pics of my car, so I moved it to just above this thread.. I also plan to install some Performer RPM heads on the 440, along with new headers. Any suggestions for a good fitting header? The RPM heads have angle spark plugs, and the 440 is a tight fit in the engine bay.

I have Hooker Competition headers on my GTX and they fit pretty well. But most people on here will tell you to go with TTI. They seem to be the header of choice - if you can pay the price.

IF the orange on your standard 383 RR is an original color, and not a re-paint, it's a special order 999 color code, and it's called ... orange.

Ive got hooker super comps and Eddy Rpms. Plugs are a PITA. Some are borderline impossible to get at.

I guess it's possible or even probable that the headers may have to be left loose, hanging on the bolts while installing the plugs. That would allow more wiggle room of course. Then I can tighten the header bolts after the plugs are installed. I do have a few of the Accel shorty header spark plugs, just in case. It sure helps to walk thru the installation process beforehand, to see what I'm up against! Thanks everyone for your input !
