I recently purchased a 65 Belvedere with a 440 backed by a 727 into a 3:55 rear end. Since it was almost a "barn find" the senior gentleman I purchased it from could not provide a lot of details. From what I can gather so far:
- 1970 440 block, 906 heads
- Edelbrock Performer intake matched to heads
- Huge Holley double-pumper - No choke. Based on physical size only, 800-900 cfm ( and I intend to replace it with a 750 with an electric choke and vac secondaries)
- old Mopar Purple 484 cam
- 3" pipes from cast manifolds to rear bumper
- Appears convertor ( stall ) is not stock as it does not load up
Ok...now for the question ???
...Already has min-starter so should not be clearance issues there.

Anyone know of a brand of header for a 440 into a 65 Belvedere / Satellite ?

Since it's destined to be only a cruise night car, with a "60-70's " nostalgia look, I would have even considered fenderwell headers, but I'm afraid the PB booster won't give me the required clearance.
Thanks in advance for any directions. Much appreciated.

My '65 Coronet had Hooker race adjustable headers. Don't think they make them anymore. TTI makes a really good product, but they are expensive.

I have a 65 with a 440 also. Mine has TTI headers and exhaust. Worth every penny in my opinion. Has never scraped on bottom or had a leak, etc.

i use tti's headers and pipes in my '65 coronet with a 440. perfect fit and worth every penny spent.

I have Hedmans on my Pro Street '65. Can get you a part# if you want.

I have Hedmans in my Coronet. They fit a little tight on the passenger side shock tower but don't seem to be rubbing. Not sure if the Edelbrock heads have anything to do with that. Had an interference issue at the mini starter but nothing a small dent with a hammer couldn't fix. Other then that they fit pretty good. Not TTI`s but a lot cheaper.

Thanks everyone for the quick replies.

I want headers :
- because of slight overall increase in power, alone.
- sound
- I may take a trip down the 1/4 mile just for nostalgia sake ( I still remember my 69 GTX with the headers open back in 70-71. Best "high" I ever had ! )
- I'm going on 71 yo . There comes a time when ya just gotta say " #$%^ it ! Do it ! "

Fits important...and worth the extra money. Thank you.

Perfect. Will contact TTI.

Btw, appears you converted brakes to dual master cylinder. Discs front, drums rear ? If so, what master cylinder ? This 65 I acquired has pwr w/ discs front, drums rear. I don't like the setup. considering removing the pwr and going with an SSBC propotioning valve for rear. Used before when I redid the brakes in my 64 wagon and never had a lock-up whereas the present set-up is too sensitive. And, I want to use a line-loc for front.

Thanks again. Much appreciated

The TTI's on my '66 Satellite fit very well. Cheap headers are a pain. My 1'st set of headers for my '70 Barracuda 383 (Appliance), 1972, very inexpensive, were a real pain. Of course I didn't have any of the tools which might have made modifications easier. Oh well. TTI's would likely work well for your application, but other brands may also.

if it's a 284/.484 hyraulic cam then they aren't the most cast manifold friendly. something with a wider LSA would be more cast manifold friendly.

Pretty sure this was the part #. These are the coated ones.

Thank you !!! Awesome setup ! Super clean engine compartment. Incidentally you seem to have gotten everything I want to do in the not to distant future.
Swap old Mallory ignition for MSD with 6AL box . You are not running a vacuum advance ?
Carb is Holley ( CFM ? ) with manual choke ? \
I have Be Kool radiator , with electric fan.
Dual master cylinder ? Wilwood ? Kit ? Dics front, drums rear ? I see a line loc. Exactly what I want ( have it but not installed.
Battery in trunk . Again , awesome !
Time affording, after the headers and ignition, I'm considering a FAST EFI. Fine tuned on a dyno.

Thanks again. Very much appreciated .
