Leonard Cohen will not be down for breakfast

I read about this yesterday after work.
Very sad news. I'm thankful to have had the opportunity to see him perform live.
May his soul rest peacefully.

Who ???,
even after watching that I still don't know him at all...
The song yes, BUT;
I thought it was made popular by someone else...

RIP Mr. Cohen

Nope it's his song and covered by damn near everybody, Poet, song writer and very revered.

He does hail from Canada but quite known worldwide.

You're better than me, I don't even know the song.

R.I.P. Leonard......1st time i heard Suzanne in 1970, i was mezmerized......twice replaced from yesterday(RT).......He can make You laugh,, He can make You cry(Bread).......

Those of you who have no idea who Leonard Cohen is should think of Bob Dylan. Cohen is just as much of a writer as he is, because he's Canadian should not belittle his musical contributions.
I'm shocked, quite frankly, that so many have not even heard his most popular songs. Yes, he didn't receive a lot of airplay but neither does Dylan.
Lightfoot, Young, Mitchell...

Known overseas too...my wife was a big fan as a teenager in Germany. As a Canuck myself, I sadly never heard of him either, until I met my wife nearly 15 years ago; but I grew up on old country music and transitioned into Led Zep and such later on, so no real exposure in my household.
RIP Leonard.

I have several LP's I worked in Grand Prairie Alberta for a while years back and heard his music. It was so different I just had to have some. RIP Lenard.

He was talking about dying just recently recently, said he was ready........did a lot of good songs. RIP Mr Cohen.

I find the original version of "Hallelujah" from 1968 (I think) to be down-right painful to listen to. Jeff Buckley's arrangement from the early 90's revived the song. Cohen is singing the Buckley version in post #1.

My wife found these in the attic last weekend before we heard the news of his death.

Hallelujah was written around '84 and has been covered by no less than 300 or so different artists since.
