My friend in Louisville, Kentucky is going to drive this car tomorrow. If he does not buy it I may make an offer depending on what he finds.

Seller told me one small bubble on the passenger door that he forgot to point out. Otherwise claims excellent, not perfect, but excellent driver body. Getting a video of the drive tomorrow.
 
Let me straighten out my quivers first. I am surprised that apparently a lot of effort & $ went into this but someone decided to retain the drums (at least up front). Also, check the top/rear of the center console. That's an area that always cracks and I thought I saw a possible repair as the camera zoomed by. Im surprised the 6 min eBay video doesn't have any footage of it driving or at least running. That's usually a big selling point. I see that your friend will send you the drive video tomorrow. Some of the glass scratches look like DA scratches. Bedsides ques of when it was built (ex. orange UDFs, Accel Super Coil, etc.), it looks really nice. GL!
 
Like you pointed out, It is so strange to me that these cars get thousands of dollars spent under the hood, and a $670 disc brake conversion is left out. There is a nice Coronet in St Louis that has over 35K in receipts, yet drums all around??!!?? Three Coronets on eBay right now (in addition to this one) with upgraded prepped 440 V8s, and nothing done to the brakes whatsoever.

The seller has had this car about two years. He is obviously a flipper. Told me long stories today about the GTOs, Firebirds, and various Ford Coupes he has sold over the past three years. eBay feedback on two sales looks positive.

My friend in Louisville has been looking for a B Body driver for awhile like myself. He's not much into orange, but has enough interest to test drive and maybe make an offer. I'll sit on the fence on this one, but for the most part it is pretty much what I've been looking for (but I'd perfer green believe it, or not). I'll update you guys when I get information.

The seller listed the car for 20 days, and told me he is firm for now on price. I was thinking 24 might be a reasonable offer to start?

If critical equates to pain in the *** nit picker ... then that's me. ;)

As for the drum brake scenario, if it's on a real deal HP car, I'm good with it. If its on a modified clone car ... not so much.

As for green b-bodies ... I should just sell you mine. Sorry ... just teasing. Not there yet. Although it's currently red, it was originally GG1 (aka: 5pm black).
 
Well please do us both a favor and nit pick away. Although I've owned 3 B body cars, it's been 20 years since I've been in the hobby. Back then $400 bought a project, and $8,000 bought a driver, and there seemed to be MUCH MORE drivers then than now. It also seemed 'easier' to tell a driver from a trailer queen from a bondo wagon, etc, etc. Today the lines are blurred everywhere when it comes to older Mopars.

Even now 'tribute' cars cross the block sometimes at 20K, and sometimes at 60K. That's a BIG range and causes confusion when trying to value a 'tribute' (which I guess is politically correct for clone, or fake).

Keeping in mind that this car is a 440, 727, and solid all around I think mid 20s is reasonable.

Small bubbles have a way of multiplying and growing & before you know it you're into thousands of dollars in repairs.
 
"I forgot" isn't something that happens with rust-bubbles. I wouldn't even go to look at something/someone has that little recollection of. That reeks of shady.
 
Don't like "I forgot" either, but see what he says after the drive. Make an offer. The power-bulge hood alone is worth almost 2 grand based on the whacky prices I see here on FBBO. I like it.
 
Man I don't know about the others but that is a good looking car. Let your buddy check it all out and if there are no major issues then I say mid 20's for that car is a good deal. Just depends on what you want. If you like it and are not buying to make a quick flip and get rich then you are ok. If you are looking to flip it to make money then you need to get it much lower. But as I said before that is a GOOD LOOKING car. Good luck

Cars with rust bubbles, are usually rust-grenades.....with the pin pulled.

I believe the car sold near asking price.

Had a few bubbles, but the basic problem was the car "was just too orange".

Probably the highest sales price I've seen for a clone yet.
