Original or Restomod

Welcome from Canada, hard call, pro touring is big now,can turn a big dollar, but will it be big by the time it's finished? resto goes for ever

Yeah, do it the way you want it. For is some inspiration here is what my buddy did to his. Total restoration with Day 2 mods. Took him 18 years part time, gathering parts, doing the body and paint work. I know he spent north of $60k on it over the years. Good luck with yours and look forward to seeing what you do.

Hey, Canada! Good to get some feedback from our friends up north!
You' are a very wise car guy!, 4 of the biggest key's to success are right, place, right time, right crowd, And,right product.
Thank's for the welcome!

Keep it original!
We've lost enough chargers to the "general lee" crowd already. If you want to cut one up, get one that has already been goofed with and have fun. The one you have would make an excellent start for someone with preservation in mind.

Thank's! I'll keep your concept in mind, I have a way to go on the shell and body panels while all things are considered.

Welcome from north Jersey. I say keep it original, especially with a numbers drivetrain.
There will always be demand for original cars if you had to sell it fast. A resto-mod has to appeal to a certain buyer based on the mods. I converted my 70 RR from a 727 auto to an 833 4 speed since it wasn't a numbers tranny. I did keep the 4 speed original as if it was a factory 4 speed; date correct trans, correct pistol grip shifter, boot, etc. Good luck with the car. Love those Chargers !!!!!

Thank's for the input! Time to fire up the air compressor and wood stove! The old man and I have work to do! Stay Tunned!

Welcome. Farmer you have a good car to start with.
Thanks! I was just in St Louis! I bought a 66 Corvette Coupe,Numbers matching 390 Hp 427. Drove it home to DeKalb. First 100 miles a blast, after that not so much! Kind of like strapping a big block and a steering wheel to a buckboard, and driving it.
A great memory made!

I would say as someone who's been watching and working on a 1968 Roadrunner how people like both an original and a resto-mod. I would suggest going original for your "baseline" drive it for a year or so. Then do the mods you like "that can be reversed". I know we all want to see the fender tag or build sheet.

Those cars are getting harder and harder to find in "reasonable" condition for restoring, which yours looks like a candidate". With all numbers matching.

Good luck and we will all be watching. These guys Or here are a super source for support and information.
