What was the early '70's (1973 in my case) big block with AC and power steering (no air pump) belt and pulley configuration? I've pretty much figured out that the alternator and AC compressor were on a double belt set-up using the two inner pulleys on the four pulley crank pulley assembly, but I'm trying to figure out if the power steering pump was with the water pump pulley on one belt (and on which crank pulley) or if they were separate and the water pump pulley used an idler pulley for adjustment. Right now I'm leaning towards the PS pump being with the WP pulley on one belt since that's the way the belt descriptions are on the websites where you can buy replacement belts. Unfortunately the PS pump pulley and WP pulleys on my engine don't line up so I'm thinking if they are supposed to be on the same belt then either the PS pump pulley is bent inwards or I have the wrong WP pulley (which lines up with the fourth, or outer, pulley on the crank pulley assembly).
In case anyone wonders why I even ask this, I bought a big block engine from a salvage yard to swap into my RR in place of the 318 that was in it years ago, and when I went to pick it up I discovered that the yard worker had taken all the accessories off of it and had them strewn all over the ground along with some other parts. He told me it's their policy to sell them separately and that they aren't considered part of the engine I bought purchase-wise. So basically I just gathered together what I could that looked like they might fit the engine, paid for them and have been putting together a puzzle since. What a big and frustrating lesson I learned!
I would appreciate any information (including pulley diameters) and pictures on this issue.
