Accidentally locked my keys in the trunk of my Satellite, and naturally do not have a spare. Can a locksmith pick the trunk lock on these cars? ****...........

Thanks,

yup,
you just have to get in the other way..

This is what the brackets holding the seat bottom in look like. You push back, then pull up and out.

Yes, these locks can be picked by someone whom knows what they are doing.

Either way - locksmith can easily get it - or as others noted take out the back seat

If your glove box lock is keyed the same as the trunk, you could take it to a locksmith to make a key for it.

good luck, do the trunk route and with what you saved pick up one of these for xmas for yourself. Havn't lost keys or my wallet in twenty years.

You can get a key made from just the code on the lock.

I did the same thing once and had no success finding a locksmith willing to even look at my 68. Therefore, I had to do what was suggest previously, pull out the back seat and crawl in through the trunk with a flash light. You have two options once you are back there if I recall correctly. (1) take a screw driver and slide out the C-clip which holds the lock in place. (2) take a half inch socket and release the bracket from the truck and allow the deck lid to lift up with the lock still on.

I forgot my keys once, 3hr ride to the track. My son picked the trunk in about 2 minutes, the ignition in about 4 minutes. He is far from a pro, pretty easy.

If you have anything steel on the ring[or itself]....a long magnet will grab them. Got that t-shirt, too.

take out the rear seat...my grandson squeezed through...I now have 3 sets on 3 different key rings

did you get in the trunk yet??

Just for giggles next time you have the trunk lid open lock the latch grab the end of the tumbler shaft with a pair of pliers and unlock the trunk. No need to take anything off.

Perhaps, with the keys locked in the trunk, he couldn't get into the car either. Maybe all the coat hangers were in the trunk. :) (j/k)

Went through the back seat, pliers to the latch tumbler shaft and opened deck lid.....no keys. 4 hours later my son found them in his jacket pocket! Lol
