Guys, hello! My name is Dima, I am 32 years and from distant Russia)
In 2011 I bought the remains of Plymouth Satellite 1968 and began restoration.

A bit of history.
The car came to Russia in 1978 (in the previous topic sealed).
Here is a photo of the car near the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the 80s.

during the Soviet era was a very difficult adjustment.
In my car due to lack of spare parts in the country to put in the rear axle, brakes and front suspension of GAS 24.

In Soviet times, the car lost a huge amount of original details. Cluster, wiring, suspension, brakes, shaft drive, and more.
Also the car is quite rotten and cook with gas. The rear arches, sills. He looked terrible. Instead vinyl stamp was unprecedented animal skin))))))
A little later, I continue with the photos. We need to take a walk with the dog)

Welcome Dima!

Looking forward to seeing more pics. Plenty of information and help on here for your car.

As such, I bought a car.

It was very sorry to see the car in such a way. Moreover it is the only two-door coupe in '68 with these documents.

From the very beginning I have a strong profit yuneshesky maximalism and I had planned for the year to make the car) HAHA

At first I started to manually clean the body from corrosion.

After that, the body was sent for sandblasting.
It became clear that the need to replace the rear fenders, sills and boot floor ((((
For example, the rear wing on rokvato worth 157 dollars, and shipping in Russia 500 dollars. Gone to save all of it to buy.

Do I understand correctly that it is 8 3/4?
It is also a question. What a driveshaft used to box 704 85 Dodge bus and the rear axle of the car from the satellite 74?

Dima,
The rear in the above pic looks to be an 8 1/4"
Your satellite is looking very good!

Very interesting car. How would a car like this make its way to the Soviet Union. Your frame rails look much better than a car here would look after that kind of treatment. Do they use salt on your roads in the winter ?

When the car has traveled on the road sprinkled sand) It was not so detrimental to the body. Now of course, pour chemicals on the road and the car is very fast! Rot.

The first owner of the car in Russia could not be determined. The second owner was an elderly Soviet spy) in '87. Then for a long time, the car was on the Russian junkyard yet I have not bought.

Welcome! Your car is in better shape than most project cars found here. I can only imagine how hard it is to get parts for itso good luck. Also, seeing yours makes me want to put mud tires on mine :)

Thanks!
When it comes to the wheels, I think to put 16 inch wheels. This is due to the fact that I made the front brakes of the steering knuckle from Chrysler Le Baron 78 with adapter plate for caliper Ford Mustang 05. I was set and I decided to try.
But I also have a set of native brakes on the case of failure.

Guys, and you do not know whether you can make a new Fender tag number on the vin number? I do not have unfortunately (

Guys, hello! New photos, the car in the development soil.

Now I have another question on deciphering the wine numbers and numbers on the rear wing and the radiator support.
On the site http://mapleleafmopars.homestead.com/MofMaugust2006.html I read that it was in the year 68 that the numbers on the radiator pedestal and on the back horse were not the same as the wine number. Is it so? Is there somewhere else information about this?
