And so it begins..... my new garage

Are you planning for a drawbridge to drive into the upper level?

You've obviously never seen one episode of Dukes of Hazzard.... JUMPS!!!!

Dang it 747 . . . now you got me chomping at the bit to get started working on building a bigger shop so I can have some room to work on my projects !

Looking great . . . I like the draw bridge idea - that's cool !

I'm surprised you haven't already started on one! You know I'll be there.

Slick floor, speed and a 1,200lb Can Am would probably equal another garage door in the other wall but it would be fun until you landed.... Did get to try the Can Am out in the snow and am very impressed... what snow!

Work hasn't stopped but man is it freezing *** cold, yesterday they suggested that it felt like -6 degrees!!! So what I've learned in the last couple afternoons is anybody who says "you don't want to install garage doors yourself" is a puss. Walk in the park if your good with measuring and getting things true, first one was a bit slow reading instructions and identifying parts but flew threw the second one. These doors are sweeeeeet, been working into the nights so I'll shoot a pic when it's daylight out.

10-4, doors aren't that hard to install.
What kind of opener?
Liftmaster 8500, I don't sell or install them but I put one in for wife's car. Hands down the best, quietest opener I've ever had.
Been installed for 3 yrs no problems

I ran myself broke on the doors so the openers will come later. The dealer did mention that with the high lift kit I'll need a vertical opener mounted on the wall instead of the ceiling so I'll explore the options.
Not up to par on garage door lingo (10-4) but these are 12ft wide, 4 panel doors. Can't believe how heavy the glass setion was, made me pucker a bit! I'm really happy that I bumped up to these doors though, thick, R17 and have a really nice bulb seal in every joint.

One is fully functional and the other just needs the horizontal track and torsion bar assembly to be done. Not a fan of cranking these springs 12 turns X 4.... hard to believe the lifting strength of the springs after lifting the door with no spring.

Thanks guys.

Found a site to figure up lighting and 4 T5 4 bulb fixures is the ticket. Found them on Ebay for $75 ea compared to the stores $120, nice thing is they're American Made and ship directly from the manufacturer. I'll wire the shop for up to 8 fixures just to be safe though. Moving right along now!
